Don't miss out on the 'Twice a Stranger' events!

Τhe Cyprus Community Media Centre (CCMC), and the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR), are organising a series of community discussions and documentary screenings in Nicosia and Limassol to mark the opening of ‘Twice a Stranger’, an exhibition to be inaugurated at the Leventis Municipal Museum in Nicosia on 28 May.

The ‘Twice a Stranger’ exhibition tells the stories of the greatest forced migrations and population exchanges of the 20th century, when millions of people were uprooted and forced to move to new homelands. “The extraordinary archival footage and the stories and messages of ordinary people make ‘Twice a Stranger’ a really special piece of work”, said Daphne Lappa from the AHDR. “We hope that the discussions around the documentary screenings will enrich people’s understanding of the history surrounding these most tragic of events in our recent past”, she added.

The programme of the discussions and screenings are as follows:

Friday 25 May, 19:00 (Home for Cooperation, Nicosia)
Screening of “Women of Cyprus”, followed by an open discussion facilitated by the film’s director Vassiliki Katrivanou and other guests
