On June 23rd 2009, Ioanna Katsounari, Supervising Psychologist from FWC's Unit for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture (URVT)made an informational visit to Cintras, an organization specializing in the rehabilitation of torture survivors in Santiago, Chile (www.cintras.org). Cintras is a non-governmental organization established in 1985 for the purpose of providing medical and psychosocial support to survivors of torture who suffered during the military dictatorship. She had the opportunity to meet with the Director of the agency and members of the staff and exchanged information regarding the agency’s clientele, community outreach, intervention methods and funding.
