ANAHTAR Media and FWC organise an evening reception

INVITATION

ANAHTAR Media, the first bicommunal media partnership in Cyprus and Future Worlds Center invite you to an evening reception at the Home for Cooperation, opposite the Ledra Palace on Thursday 5 April 2012, at 20.00.

The first partnership of its kind, created through the initiative of the Cyprus Community Media Centre (CCMC), and supported by ASTRA 92,8 & 105,3 , Radyo Mayis 96,0 & 101,3 hopes to build a bridge in the communication between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots who are “on the same wavelength”.

What is ANAHTAR

The aim of Anahtar Media is to foster a culture of peaceful coexistence between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots through the mass media.

Our ambition is to bring people with common concerns closer together, those who share a love for their country, as well as those who want to speak the ‘same language’. Anahtar Media anticipates that it will become the medium through which these hopes can be realised.

The current activities of Anahtar Media include the production of a weekly bilingual radio programme, broadcast simultaneously on the frequencies of the two radio stations, as well as the coverage of bicommunal events across the whole island through the use of live link equipment.

In addition, a team of students from the two communities are working towards the preparation of a special programme for your people utilizing modern technological tools.

The Anahtar Media partnership has received financial support from the Economic Interdependence Programme, a project run jointly by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, and funded by the United Nations Development Programme – Action for Cooperation and Trust in Cyprus.
