UNHCR Representation in Cyprus is pleased to announce the launching of its new public awareness project, entitled "A UNHCR tent in the heart of the city"; and cordially invites you to participate in the activities and events that have been organised so far.
As the title suggests, a series of activities will be organised around a real tent, which will be initially placed in Nicosia, at the Multi functional Center of the Nicosia Municipality (former "Old People's House"). The tent will stay there for the whole month of February and will then be placed at a central location in Larnaca.
School and other groups are encouraged to visit the tent, and for this purpose arrangements for group visits can be made directly with UNHCR. Of course, passers by and any interested individual can visit the tent at any time during the working hours of the Center (from 07.30-14.30 on weekdays and Wednesday afternoons). The campaign, which is placed under the auspices of the Municipalities of Nicosia and Larnaca, and supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture, will be launched at a press conference on Tuesday 01/02 at 11.00 hrs, at the Multifunctional Center of the Nicosia Municipality.
